After starting as a ground helper and learning retaining wall construction from the ground up, Fredrick progressed into the lead stacking role and has become the primary retaining wall stacker for Westrim projects.
Today, Fredrick is building Coalesce Investments and stacking retaining walls full-time.

MEET FREDRICK
EXPERIENCE BUILT FROM THE GROUND UP
Coalesce Investments was founded by Fredrick after several years of hands-on retaining wall and landscaping experience.
Fredrick began working as a ground helper alongside his brother Kendal, owner of Westrim Contracting Ltd.
That role gave Fredrick the opportunity to learn every stage surrounding the wall—not only the final stacking.
He gained practical experience with:
- Site preparation
- Excavation support
- Base preparation
- Drainage considerations
- Material handling
- Rock selection
- Equipment coordination
- Wall layout
- Backfilling
- Job-site organization
- Careful rock placement
As his skill and experience developed, Fredrick moved into the main stacking role.
During the past year, he became the primary retaining wall and rock wall stacker for Westrim Contracting projects.
Today, Fredrick has started Coalesce Investments and is focused on stacking retaining walls full-time throughout the Kootenays.

FORMAROCK RETAINING WALLS
FormaRock is a newer retaining wall system developed by the Westrim crew after years of hands-on experience building rock walls and landscape projects.
It was created for property owners who want the bold, natural look of a rock wall with the more consistent size, shape, and layout of a precast wall system.
Unlike standard retaining wall blocks, FormaRock is designed to create a larger, more substantial wall face with a natural stone appearance. This makes it a strong option for projects where the wall needs to look clean, solid, and high-end while still fitting into a mountain, acreage, residential, or commercial property setting.
Because FormaRock has recently entered the market, it also gives property owners access to a wall style that is different from the common block walls seen everywhere else.

- Step 2 — REVIEW THE PROPERTY Fredrick will discuss the slope, wall purpose, drainage concerns, access, approximate size, preferred appearance, and project timing. A site visit may be arranged when needed.
- Step 3 — CHOOSE THE RIGHT SOLUTION Fredrick will help determine which wall style, material, and layout are suited to the property. You will receive a clear recommendation and estimate.
- Step 4 — BUILD THE WALL Once the project is approved, the site is prepared and Fredrick stacks the retaining wall for the property.
